DIY Wrap Headphones

DIY Wrap Headphones

Here's where I got the idea:

Supplies:

If you're like me, and don't have any colored string, but are too impatient to run to the store first, you can get all Martha Stewart and DYE YOUR OWN STRING! Stellar, I know. Having only plain old string and a watercolor set, I went to work dying the string... {No trip to the store, no cost, and you can make it any color you like}

1. Colored string

          OR

1. Plain string

2. Watercolor set

3. Water

4. Superglue (if you don't trust knots)

Dying String:

1. Cut two super long strings (you can make them different colors from each other, for
    stripes).

2. Dip entire string in water.

3. If you want soft colors, you could mix the color in the water before you soak the string.

But, if you like richer colors (and don't have a huge source of dye), you'll have to do
   what I did and smear
your fingers in the watercolor set and rub the dye into the damp string.

*Tip:  You can alter the color on a string to make it tye-dye!

4.  Let string dry.

Wrapping:

5. Start wrapping!  Tie both strings in separate knots at base of headphones, like so:

6. Then wrap over the loose ends.

7. Once you get to the middle of the cord, where the headphones split off, wrap one string up the left side
and the other string up the right.

8. When you get to the ends, you can either tie a knot or use superglue. Done!

Finished!

Now you're lookin' hipster!
